Lenggong Archaeological Museum

The muzium is associated with (what is called) the Perak Man which was discovered by a group of researchers from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) led by Dato' Prof Zuraina Majid... The Perak Man of Lenggong Valley is the oldest human skeleton to be found in Malaysia... Estimated to be about 11,000 years old, it is also the only complete prehistoric human skeleton found in the country...

The discovery of the Perak Man was such an important importance that the RM3 million Lenggong Archaeological Museum (aka the Kota Tampan Archaeological Museum) was built to house him... The muzium was open by Sultan Azlan Shah, the Sultan of Perak in 2003...

Admission to the muzium is free... The muzium is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm except on Fridays where there is a break from 12.15pm to 2.45pm for Friday prayers...

Address: Kota Tampan, Lenggong

Directions: The muzium is located at Kota Tampan, which is about 40km from Kuala Kangsar (KK) on the KK-Grik road... It is abut 6km from Lenggong town...
