Kajang is located about 24km from downtown Kuala Lumpur or KLumpur)... Access is thru the KLumpur-Seremban PLUS Highway or by the old KLumpur-Kajang trunk road (Route 1)... Kajang has developed tremendously since the 90s and it is a close sub-urb of KLumpur where residential land has become scarce...
The first settlement in Kajang was established in the early 1700s and by 2006, its population had grown to over half a million... Because of its location 24km south of Kuala Lumpur, Kajang was made the district capital of Hulu Langat... The town's success can be traced back to the opening of coffee estates in the 1890s... One of the famous coffee estates was the Inch Kenneth Estate, managed by the Kindersley brothers who were also among the first to plant rubber in the country on a commercial basis...
And it was R.C.M. Kindersley who was one of the champions for setting up an English school in Kajang in 1916... Three years later, the Kajang English Government School started its classes with 70 students... Now called the Kajang High School, it is one of the oldest schools in the country... One of the road in Kajang town is named Jalan Kindersley in his honor... Today, Kajang and its surrounding area boast a number of higher learning institutions, including Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in neighbouring Bangi, the Kuala Lumpur Infrastructure University College on the road to Puchong... There is also the University of Nottingham in nearby Semenyih and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in nearby Serdang...
~ more to come ~
There is no really any tourist attractions in Kajang or its surroundings... Kajang is famous for its satay but really even this has lost its shine... There is a recently opened Satay Gallery showing the history fo satay and its development in Kajang town...
There are also numerous golf courses in and within a short driving away from Kajang town... Amongst them are:
Bangi Golf Club
Danau Golf Club
Impian Golf Club
Kajang Hill Golf Club
Palm Garden Golf Club
The Mines Golf Resort
Unipertama Golf Club
Uniten Golf Club
Further away are Bukit Unggul Golf Club, Nilai Springs Golf & Country Club and Staffield Country Club...

Hi Chia, nice you built a Kopi page, I haven't tried the one in Kajang yet, sure I want to go next time. Btw I noticed the Hainanese are especially good at Kopi.
