vt dinner at dorsett regency klumpur
Checkers Cafe - Dorset Regency
When Claus was coming to KLumpur, he email for a VT dinner... We managed to round up a few local VTers to join us... Amongst them was VTer Chris and his wife Ima who joined VT just a few days earlier... As most of the VTers have not met each other before, there were introductions and after which everyone talk like long lost friends... Of course, travelling and personal introductions are the main topics of discussion... With a good buffet dinner, everyone was in good mood... Abbey presented everyone with a Santa cap in advance of the coming Christmas season...

The Verandah - Federal Hotel
When Ann decided to come to KLumpur to celebrate her 50th birthday, she contacted me for VT meeting... A few emails did the trick and we managed to get Zue to come and break fast with us as it was the Ramadan month... Due to this, many of the regulars were not able to make it... Percy called at the last minute and she was invited for dinner as my guest...

The dinner was more like a gathering of old friends... The topic of discussion centers on travelling and catching up... There was also exchange of information on cameras... All too soon, the dinner ended and we vow to meet up again some day...
dinner at terrace cafe, putrajaya marriott hotel..
Terrace Cafe - Putrajaya Marirott Hotel
When Spela and Saso decided to come this way again, we arrange to meet up after some 3 years ago when we arranged to meet in Jakarta... Spela is off to Cambodia this time and was kind enough to divert his schedule to KLumpur to meet me and Diana... We send 3 days together and have most meals together... We also take them to Putrajaya for some sightseeing...

After a relaxing 3 days, we send them off to LCCT for their flight to Phnom Pehn... Till we meet again, Spela n Saso...
vt dinner at sinki restaurant, dengkil...
Sinki Restaurant - Dengkil
When Jon came to KLumpur for golf durig his winter vacation to escape from cold Busan in South Korea, he contact me thru VT... We arranged to have golf and lunch/dinner in KLumpur during their golfing trip... We did have a game with them at Seremban International Golf Club (SIGC) and Danau Golf Club... Our first dinner gathering was in Dengkil on December 12th after their golf game at Danau Golf Club... As this is the first time that we met Jon and company, there were much to talk about but mainly on golf... We have a pleasant evening and all too soon it came to an end as we send them off to their hotel at Hotel Equatorial Bangi...

A farewell dinner was held at the Summer Palace Restaurant, Putrajaya Marriott on December 15th... It was good food and fellowship to bd them bon voyage... Jon will be back to Malaysia for his summer vacation in August 2011 and we look forward to meet up again to renew our friendship and maybe play some rounds of golf...
at the lotus penang restaurant...
Nasi Kandar Kuala Lumpur
When Josie and Andy dropped in on the leg of their year-long world trip, Josie wrote us for a VT dinner to meet up with fellow KLumpur VTers.. It is sort of a reunion dinner.... The only caveat is that the resraurant must serve her favourite roti canai... So, we decided to go back to the Nasi Kandar Penang Restaurant in Jalan Binjai, off Jalan Ampang...

The dinner started with Josie, Andy, Patricia and Audrey arriving together... As time goes by, the rest of the crowd came in... It was a nice gathering and everyone was taking to each other like old friends... We really missed out fellow VTer, Antonio, whose farewell dinner was held here when he left KLumpur for good to return to Lisbon... And Josie & Andy were with us for Antonio's farewell dinner... A special placard was prepared (by Josie) to show Antonio how much we miss him...
The dinner went on smoothly and it was finally time to call it a night... Everyone left after a hearty meal of what the restaurant has to offer... While some went home, I understand that others (including Josie and Andy) went on to dance the night away... After all, it is Friday night.... Till the next VT Dinner in KLumpur...
with klumpur vters...
Nasi Kandar Kuala Lumpur
When Jon told me that he is visiting Kuala Lumpur with his sister and her family, it was decided that a VT dinner be organised during his free night... We have a good turnout for the fellowship despite a number of VTers being out of town for Ching Ming (the Chinese equivalent of All Souls Day)... Although it was raining heavily on that night, the rain slowed to a dizzle and then stops completely for VTers to come to the restaurant...

The dinner started with Jon and his family members arriving and we started dinner while waiting for the rest of the crowd... As they tickle in slowly one after another, we listened to Jon's story about his family losing their shoes in the guesthouse... Fortunately, the guesthouse was kind enough to replace the lost shoes... Talks were on travelling and other intersting topics of common interest... Jon's family went back to the guesthouse for rest first as they have to leave the guesthouse for the airport and then home at 3.30am... We stayed back for an hour or so and have to take leave as it was getting late... Next VT meeting will be in Manila soon as some Malaysian VTers are headed that way...
first vt meeting in 2008...
Pan Heong Restaurant - Batu Caves
When Sue and Ron were coming to town, we arrange to take them to visit Batu Caves... However, as they are free and easy travellers, they avoid tour groups... Meeting up at Kajang KTM station, we took them to the Sg Chua wet market to experience local market scene... Then it is off to Putrajaya before going to Batu Caves for lunch... However, as we were not able to secure a table, we decided to visit climb up the 272-steps Batu Caves first...

This time around, we were able to get a table and have our first VT meeting in 2008... Oh, how time flies... We talked about the usual things that travellers talk about... And also on itinerary in Kuala Lumpur... It was a nice meeting and soon we have to take our leave as we were leaving for Port Dickson... Dropping them off at Chinatown, we then continued our journey...
at nasi kandar pelita...
Nasi Kandar Pelita - Jalan Ampang
An impromtu lunch meeting was arranged when Precy informed us that she will be in town with a colleague... So a few sms and email did the trick and we were able to round up some VTers ~ including Zawawi who will be attending his first VT meeting...

KLCC was again the choice due to its conveninance and Pelita was the normal choice... In no time, all were gathered at the nasi kandar restaurant... As it was lunch time, the queue was long and we have to queue right up to the roadway for the food... Again, introductions were made and everybody settled down to the good food and excellent company... Travel questions were asked and answered... Only too soon, as some of the VTers have to go back to office... It was a good gathering all round...
a private birthday dinner...
Little Penang Cafe - KLCC Suria
When Happy (VT id h4pp1) was coming to KLumpur, Zue called for a VT dinner at the Little Penang Cafe to welcome her to the city... However, at the last minute, she decided to extend her stay in P Langkawi and hence have to miss the dinner... Nevertheless, the dinner continued with the local VTers who turned up at the restaurant...

As it was Zue's birthday on the day, we use the occasion to wish her Happy Birthday... Although it was too late to get a birthday cake, Chia treated the birthday girl to dinner and Shahrir to drinks as he had already had his dinner...
As both Zue and Shahrir are regular visitors to Indonesia, discussion were mainly on places of interest and food (what else) in Bali, Jakarta and Bandung... It was a nice gathering although there were only four of us...
at the signatures, klcc suria...
Signatures - KLCC Suria
When Marcela called up for meeting up as she missed the last VT meeting on August 9, it was arranged to be at KLCC again as she was there for a free organ recital... Right on the dot, she managed to recognise me with no difficulty... Must be that my ID passport was very clear...
Attendees
Chia - chiabh
Marcela - ines2003
Zue - lukluk-wal-marjan
Diana - Chia's guest
Pic: Diana, Chia, Marcela and Zue
When Zue arrived, we decided to adjourn to Signatures for a drink so that Marcela can have her lunch... During lunch, Marcela was given advice on her journey thru Malaysia such as where to go, what to see and what to expect... It was a very informative meeting as we talk about travel and Argentina as well... It was all too short a meeting as we have to go our way and bid her a nice stay in Malaysia...
