The restaurant saw its boom days from the 1950s through to the 1970s when Bukit Bintang was the entertainment hub of Kuala Lumpur. Despite the changes within the Jalan Bukit Bintang area, Kedai Makan Toong Kwoon Chye has maintained its status as a truly KL culinary institution.
