The Miami River flows near where I live in Ohio - named for the Miami Indians, long before there was a Miami in Florida.
Miami, Oklahoma... who'd have thought?
This town is named for the Indian tribe. We pronounce it "My-ammuh" to distinguish it from its namesake in Florida.
