Like other small countries like San Marino and Andorra, their stamps have a rarity value and as such are a source of revenue.
In Liechenstein's case the other 'sideline' of incorportaing countries (never dodgy ones of course) is far more lucrative.
To return to the stamps, you can buy modern ones, like those shown in the picture which have won awards and stuff or older stuff.
Due to the fact that the postal service put a great deal of effort in over the years to create interesting designs, their stamps often have high value in the stamp-collecting world.
