Name of Shop: see below
1) Some of the finest Sausages ever :
The Boston Sausage company is a Butchers in the old "Mountains" building in Boston.
Their range is quite limited, but the appeal of the Sausages and pies is growing fast.
In county renowned for these products (indeed the words "Lincolnshire Sausage" is known throughout the world) have to be extra special to win customers.
I have to take orders from relatives who insist on buying pounds of them. It's a pity they havn't developed a web-site and delivery service yet : they would make a fortune.
The "Boston Sausage" and the slightly spicier "Farmhouse" are both excellent - and not expensive. The shop is opposite Wetherspoons on the High street.
2) On no account miss having a Skinner's ice-cream whilst in Boston.
It is the best ice-cream in the world, and the only thing I will miss when I move on to live in another place.
You have two options in gaining a taste of this delight dancing on your tongue-
a) Listen out for one of their vans playing some awful tune around the streets
b) Visit their kiosk in Pescod Square. (summer only)
A medium cornet is just 65p
3) Clear out your channels with jakeman's of Boston sweets.
The shop on Wormgate has now closed, although the wonderfully old-fashioned sign is still there.
The manufacturing plant is still operating and their products are available in about 20 places around Boston - mainly newsagents. (there is a list on the door of the old shop).
You will also find them in shops across the country.
Take the Throat and chest sweets, the original and famous, containing soothing menthol - sorts your passages out a treat !
