Restaurant Name: Sessions house
I'm afraid I have yet to procure a picture of this place - but it will come. The sessions house was formerly Peterborough's jail, and after that a Magistrates court. The conversion has been sympathetic and many features of the courtroom remain. The food is not overly exciting but is pretty much middle-of-the-road carvery type stuff, and they give good portions. My brother was a little more forthcoming : "They do a lovely bit of beef" he said. This is the blurb from a 'pubs' website about the place :The Sessions House is a 98 seating Carvery restaurant with an a la carte menu. The bar area caters for light snacks and quick meals. Sessions is located within a ten minute walk of the town centre, near to the train and bus station. The building itself was a magistrates court in recent years and still holds many features of its time. Built originally as a castle it is a prominent building on the main Thorpe road into town. Set back from the road, with front garden area and rear patio in pleasant surrounds, we offer Special offers and Music or General Knowledge quizzes once a week on a Monday. Our restaurant / pub is known locally as the castle pub, why not visit us soon.
