Abbeymacs: Chips with everything...

I'm facing a moral dilemma at this point...this new chipper (chip shop to you and me) is bound to be run by someone I'm related to by marriage, and If i write a bad review....

It maybe Abbeyknockmoy's best food outlet, but then again it's Abbeyknockmoys ONLY outlet.

I'm surprised that considering the name and the names they gave to the various fried products that come out of it's deep fat fryers that neither McDonalds or Supermacs have not yet sued. That would make a good story.

UPDATE : OCT 2008. Under new ownership, it is now called zam zam's, although the Abbeymac sign still hangs over the door. Kebabs are now on the menu, but I have yet to enter through it's portals yet. It's day will come.

Cakes 2 go / pizza to go: This company will go places

This little business is situated in Mountbellow, on what is called 'The Square'. Odd really, when it is quite clearly a triangle. But that aside, this place is great. It operates as a cake shop (cakes 2 go) during the day - i especially recommend the scones. After a couple of hours break it re-opens in the evening as pizza-2-go. The pizzas are well made and authentically Italian. Well as italian as they can be deep in rural Ireland.

People drive for miles for a taste of their wares.

Once they get some bigger accommodation, the owner here will, i'm sure, really create something special and clean up.
