Flying in Airport Review

Copenhagen airport is used by a variety of low-cost airlines. Easyjet, Air Berlin and Sterling probably have the biggest presence. This means that Copenhagen is accessible from most Western European countries on the low-cost brigade. In addition several ‘frills’ airlines compete on price to fly to the rather smart and well-connected airport.

The observant among you may have realised that Ryanair does not figure here. Interestingly, they used to advertise flights to Copenhagen, but actually flew to Malmo – which is in a different country altogether ! They were forced to stop that particular piece of Ryanair style creative advertising (not to say creative geography) in the end.

With good Danish transport links, the other airports of Denmark (such as Billund or Arhus) can also be used to reach Copenhagen in a reasonably timeframe (and Malmo in Sweden, I suppose !)

Such an easy one Airport - Transportation to Copenhagen Center Review

I really hate arriving in a new country and finding out that the transport from the airport runs on some 'special train' that is vastly over priced. It is therefore refreshing that Copenhagen has got it's act together.

You can take either the train or the metro into the centre of Copenhagen, and both tickets are a 3-zone affair, charged at the same rate as any other public transporation in the Copenhagen area. You would have to be a complete wally to not follow the directions, but i'm sure a few still end up crossing the bridge into Sweden and end up wondering around Malmo thinking they are in Copenhagen.

The train and metro take similar times (about 15-20 mins) into the city. The train is probably more useful if you are changing to the S-Bahn network for you final destination. The Metro avoids the central station and centres on the Norrepoint station (also on the main train line)
