Crabby ? Not in Krabi !

Great base for the area

As the 'hub' of the local area we fell for this ramshakle place. It's not too touristy, but has all the facilities.

Its well placed for the transport connections to the Islands or further on into mainland Thailand.

We found a couple of great resaturants.

We made it our base for a few nights and enjoyed its compactness and friendliness (apart from a couple of jerks on the quay plying for business)

I would especially recommend the night market - a great place to relax and sample the local cuisine.

Hi- I am also vehemently opposed to Elephant exploitation. I wrote about it in my Jaipur page. It seems that people will go to any lengths for tourism. The Kayaking I would love- sea looks beautiful. Thanks

The information about the elephants was disturbing. Thanks for presenting that information to educate the public. I really enjoyed reading about the restaurant. The "splurge" for one night was certainly worth it.

Another really good page: the kayaking sounds great, as does the restaurant, and I loved your hotel warning ;)
