Andorra is one of the world's smallest countries wedged between Spain and France.

It basically makes it's money from being a kind of giant drive-in supermarket wher you can stock up on booze, fags (tobacco), perfume and electrical stuff.

As one of the tinyist countries in the world (it's ownership is shared between the French president and Spanish Bishop) it dosn't have its own currency and many other obvious symbols of statehood.

Customs are in force however as it is not part of the E.C - so there are limits on what you can buy (in law!)

You can get a stamp in your passport (if you like that sort of thing) to show you have been here by asking at the tourist information office.

Still, its the booze that fuels the place - a favorite memory ?
...Difficult to say as most visits to Andorra disappear in an alcoholic blur. You could say that a fond memory is watch snow melt as the result of too many spirits and a long evening lead to.................ahhh.........room for more beer !

One other little known fact : the annual defence budget is only 3 euros - enough to fire a ceremonial shotgun one a year !

You got my attention right away with the words cheap and spa. Andorra seems to be a great place to be pampered and then stock up on supplies.
