In June 2002, I spent two weeks in Slovak Paradise National Park as part of a short-term volunteer project with INEX Slovakia. There are similar volunteer projects all over the world and I do highly recommend it to everyone. Young people of different cultural backgrounds living and working together: it was one of my best experiences. During my two weeks in Slovak Paradise, we stayed in a cozy cabin in a town named Dedinky, our work consisted of cleaning the hiking trails, conserving the Park's diversity, and mark the boundary of the National Park. This region is definitely aimed for strong mountain lovers. |
The Slovak Paradise is surely wonderful throughout the whole year. Imagine 300 km marked hiking trails, filled with canyons, rivers, waterfalls. |
