The Allure

colorful spain plane
There are some places you always imagined yourself going to, but don't really have a reason why. Spain was just one of those places! There was an allure about the country, whether it was a slight comfort in knowing the language (at least what 4 years of high school spanish could get me by on), or it was visions of spanish achitecture, or as with any foreign place, the thoughts of paella, dulces, or pan y queso dancing in my head.
Regardless of my motive for going to Spain, I knew one day, I was meant to go there....so that day finally came on November 12, 2003.
I even arrived in style as the plane shows.

Museums

There are certain places in the world that you should set aside time to visit museums. Spain is blessed to have many museums offering exhibits that show you in 3-D, what you've only seen on flat pages of books. Being in the same room as some of the paintings and scultures will take your breathe away, because you appreciate ALL the details, plus you are surrounded by the enviroment that influenced some of these artisits.
I went to Reina Sofia Art Center and Museo del Prado in Madrid. The Art Center highlighted Picasso's Guernica and a Dali exhibit. Museo del Prado had a special exhibit of Manet, but housed the likes of Greco, Velazquez, Goya, etc.

Cons:"Narrow streets can lead to an exciting and tense drive"
In A Nutshell:"Spain's regions have distinct fingerprints, but are all part of the same hand"
