New York City

So November, 2002 was my first taste of New York City and I absolutely loved it. My friend Melissa did a fabulous job of documenting our trip so I have loads of photos to share. Finding the best way to post them is a challenge. We left for New York on Friday morning. Early. Unfortunately, my alarm didn't go off that morning when they were picking me up around 4:30 am. Luckily, I'd had everything ready to go out the door anyway so I inconvenienced them about 5 minutes. However, that 5 minutes meant we missed our flight. Air Tran is mean. Very mean. There were still people checking in, the flight had not begun to board, and the lady wouldn't less us check in. So we had to sit there for like 5 hours till the next flight out. In the long term, it didn't change the time we got to New York as we were still going to be laid over in Atlanta.

We arrived in NY and then found a restaurant called Figs where we sat and ate wierd pizza and had drinks and waited for Becky who was flying in from S.C. to meet us.

We finally got a cab and were delivered to our hotel,The Warwick. It was a great place and Melissa found us a great deal. We were easily the youngest, least classy folks there, which made it that much more fun. That evening, our friend Paul and his girlfriend Gianna came out to visit us and escorted us on the subway to the village.

At some point that evening, we ended up at Connolly's, this super cute Irish bar across the street from The Warwick. We spent some time there every evening and even went in to say goodbye monday when we left. Jimmy and David were the awesome bartenders!

Great work! Ground zero photo is excellent. Guggenheim information quite helpful. Little Italy is great. Ruby Fooes is well written and Warwich Hotel looks like a real find. You seemed to have had an excellent time in this great American city.
