Mausoleo di Galla Placidia - Ravenna

Mausoleo di Galla Placidia

Mausoleo di Galla Placidia Mosaics Review

Galla Placidia (386 - 452) was Onorio's sister, the roman emperor who moved the empire's capital of Occident from Milano to Ravenna. He built this small mausoleum between 425 and 450.
It looks very simple from the outside, compared to the richness of the mosaics in the inside.
