Dubai's star is rising more and more each day. And sure that you will hear more in the future.. In the middle of a desert, they have created a country were you can see all kinds of luxuries.. This City of UAE is making its plans to be one of the biggest trade markets in the world. Just after completing a free trade zone of 10 km sguare, they have started to build another bigger one..
I have visited Dubai during September 2002, Our plane has landed in the middle of the night, when we left the plane, I was suprised with the weather.. Hard to breathe at the first moment due to hot and humid weather, though it was 2 am in the morning.. Dubai is very hot during summer and still hot in winters. The best period is to visit there late october, november, February and March.. However between 15th of May till 15 th of September, the hotels offer very reasonable prices...
We were there in september and when we returned back home we were all ill. The weather was around 34-36 C and very humid, but the dangerous thing is that all covered places are climatised to a rather cold degree and due to high temperature diferencies, you should be more carefull.. We have carried a sweatshirt to many places..
Dubai has lots of kitchens from all around the world.. You can have access to many different tastes and also you can have a stop near a Burger king.. However the meat served in Dubai has a sour taste to our tongues, That we are used to have in any European restaturant..
Though we have tried many restaurants from a selection of very expensive nice looking ones, to small shops, the taste of meat has not satisfied us.. If you are fond of, you can try chinese and japanese food which is easily reachable.
Travel in the city could be done easily with Taxis which have taximeters. The cost is very cheap, For less than 10 dollar you can reach many places..
Dubai is known to be a shopping paradise but dont expect to find things for an unbeliavable price. The only price difference is due that they have no Tax..
Note: All the pictures of Burj al arab hotel were taken by me.. (Though not allowed:) |

I just hope the company takes care of the bill... I will gladly pay for the Pay-per-view program myself. | traveldave Tue Sep 16, 2003 23:12 UTC Dubai looks like a wonderful city to visit, despite the heat and humidity. |
