Lyon.. Vieux Lyon.. Part Dieu Lyon is the second city of France. However for me the most french one.. You feel the French culture, tradition and living more than you feel in Paris.
I have been to Lyon for a business trip. At first we were having meetings in day time so could only see the city at night.. But afterwards I spared some time to see the daylife also..
Lyon has 9 regions (arondissement) However I can tell the city is divided in to two parts the Vieux lyon, which is the old city on the coasts of the Two river and the trade center Part dieu along to the city itself.
On part dieu near the Big building of Credit Lyonnaise, there is a shopping mall next to Carrefour, where you can make your shoppings. Just a standart shoping mall like their types, you can supply your daily needs from Carrefour.. |
| | Vieux Lyon Vieux Lyon is the most beatiful part of Lyon.. A long the Rhone river the old part is divided by the two rivers passing inside the city. St jean and the streets with cafes and restaurants are the best part of the city..
Wherever you are in Lyon when you raise your head you will see the Fourviere.. The old Cathedral at the top of the hill is looking to the city from up above..
Lyon is famous with its kitchen, Lots of variety of restaurants, almost all have very nice dishes.. French food is very famous and in lyon you can have a chance to taste the best of them.. Please note many restaurants do not have an English menu.. |

CALSF Mon Sep 6, 2004 14:18 UTC Just stopping by your Lyon page. I've read it's similar to Paris but as you say may have more atmosphere although I will always prefer Paris. Didn't realize they are strict in speaking French only in Lyon however. | Sharrie Sat May 24, 2003 00:48 UTC This will be my next French destination! Oh-oh, no English?!!!!! | barryg23 Fri May 2, 2003 11:55 UTC Nice start - Lyon is a great city, of which I have fond memories |
