"My favorite part of California" San Francisco by emilesc
San Francisco Travel Guide: 9,083 reviews and 19,112 photos
The Bay Area is my favorite part of California. I would live here if I could get a job in my area... and if it weren't so @$%#!% expensive.
My last trip was in September 2006, during which I was researching a novel I'm writing that is primarily set in San Francisco, so I had even great motivation to cover a lot of ground during this trip, scour the neighborhoods and try to get off the beaten path a bit. So this should produce a lot of good tips and travelogues on SF and the East Bay.
- Pros:Beautiful, cosmpolitan, always plenty to do.
- Cons:Expensive
- In a nutshell:My dream city.

I would do the culinary academy dinner thing - definitely! "as long as it's on fire" :D Mmm, gorgonzola & grilled onions (& truffle oil). You'll be buying some of that in Paris, I presume? I love that La Boulange has boules of chocolat chaud!
Great tips. I know the Wash. Square Grill has a very good reputation -- chefs I've met eat there!
Great tips and photos Emile. You certainly made the most of your time there and your new digi cam. Good for you!
