Botswana is chokablock full of wild.
From the Kalahari to the Okavango Delta, through Chobe and everywhere in between, Botswana offers more bang for you many more bucks than most of Southern Africa. If you're up for it hire a 4 x 4 kitted out with full camping regalia and get out into the rough stuff. No fences here, you better be tucked up in you cosy little sleeping bag early and don't even contemplate a midnight wee!
Don't figure on camping being the cheap option here though. If you want one of the wildest experiences in Africa then you'll pay for it in park fees. But let's face it the memories are priceless and the country has one of the most progressive conservation policies in Africa.
If you like to go upmarket and seek out the safari lodge existence then you won't be disappointed. Go 3,4 or 5 star or stay at Gunn's Camp and watch the costs go into orbit!
Yes Botswana is bountiful but your pockets need to be as well.
