Cottbus, a town of slightly more than 100.000 inhabitants, is located between Berlin and Dresden and may be worth a visit if you travel between these two cities. Either as a short stop for a few hours or as a base to explore the surrounding area with the nearby Spreewald, lakes or the huge coal mines.
