We flew from Tonga'patu to Va'vau on a monday. Nie'fu is a very small town and people recognize 2 falangs coming. The surroundings are awesome. The town is climbing beside a bay totally protected from open sea. Hilly, compared to Tonga'patu, and a big church in a spanish or portugiese style, gives you the feeling of West-Indies. We had a meal by the water in a restaurang, and took a walk through the city. We ended up at Paradise hotel, having a marguerita(exellent!), and went back visiting every bar, quite emtpy, (Yes, monday!) and it's a thrill! Climbing stairs, walking through work areas along the bay. Many sailingboats are sleeping or partying in the water.
Ended in Bounty bar, a Rhum bar, having 29 differnt rhums. Australian woman Mary and her staff runs this simple but very friendly bar.
This bar is also the port to one of the small islands in the neighburhood, Mounu.
Alan and Lynn picks you up on a wonderful boat-trip for half an hour to their island.
Alan and his wife Lynn runs this hidden resort along with 2 daughters. They have 3 bungalows and a maximum of 6 guests. The island is aprox 60m x 30m.
- Pros:Very small, typical Tongan village.
- Cons:VERY small...
- In a nutshell:I long here every day!
