A small, pretty town about 45 minutes on the train from Barcelona, famous for its wine and the Festa Major in the last and first few days of August and September respectively. Teams of
castellers compete to build the tallest human towers.
At the bottom of each tower there is a huge knot of people holding it up. If you are a spectator and you look like you might be strong enough you may get drafted in to help. On hearing I was English, my adopted team were most amused and told me it would be just like a rugby scrum. It's quite fun, but can be painful and whatever you are wearing will get covered in dirty footprints. Don't drop anyone, the back streets are filled with injured people as the towers do fall occasionally.
