I would like to say that Brisbane is the best place in the world, but if I did, I'd just be pulling my own leg and yours. No where is the best. But this is my home. Born and breed here, I must say it is a beautiful city with endless activities - unfortunately most of them require a short drive either to the Bay, up the mountains, down/up the coast. Hmm To stay in town you'll find things like Southbank Parklands, Botanical Gardens, Mt Cootha, The Valley/China Town (purely for people watching unless you bat for more than one team....), and the usual town stuff I suppose like Queen Street Mall, King George Square, Nightlife, and my favourite - the Casino!! ($2.50 Mango Daquaris). The people are very friendly, relatively laid back and you are pretty well safe (within reason eg. no nude runs up town girls!!).
