This place has been around for many years. It is very, very small, hence cossy. You must make a reservation, and still you will probably have to wait to be seated. But no worries, Beto or Johny will make sure you get a glass of wine... and Beto will charm the girls with his Argentinian accent.
Customers are mostly locals and regulars. It is a family run business, and we are all part of that family.

We will come for dinner at least once at week .

The food is delicious. My favorites are the Salmon Carpaccio, Parpardele a la Marinara... and the Tiramisu, which is maded by la Nona.

This place is just spectacular. From the minute you walk to the huge building in
    Beatiful neon lights.
Striking - almost ethereal - light fixtures float throughout the room like clouds.
And mostly important, my favourite, and the best dessert in Miami. BANANA IN A BOX... trust me, I just keep coming back for this.

  • You must come here with a group of people, portions are HUGE and the whole idea is to share so you can taste different dishes.
My favorites which I strongly recommend are:
Lobster Pancakes,Grilled Shrimp Spring Rolls, Peking Duck Salad, Shanghai Lobster

    - Don't forget some Crispy Spinach, and to finish....
    -Bananas in a Box

    Enjoy!

Located in the corner of 8th Street and OCean Drive, this place has become an icon of South Beach. Open 24h, sure you will find something to eat, pizza... This is one of the few proper Restaurants, sit in , that you will find open apart from Denys.
The menu is vast, the prices resonable.
News Cafe owners also own Van Dyke Cafe in Lincon Road. Same style, same service.
This place has been scenary to tooooo many stories.

It's part of the culture of the Beach.

I dont really remember the first time I came here. I know it was quite exotic just to say you were at a Greek Restaurant, in Miami. Who would known then I will fall in love the country.
Opa story is quite intreasting. It is located in Ft. Lauderdale area. Ft. Lauderdale is some how far from Miami, or South Beach let's say. They where like two diffenrent world. You either lived and go out in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. Because I lived in the midle, and had a few friend in the North, every now and then Ft. will be the spot to go.
Since I moved out from Miami, a new location has been open in Ocean Dr., oh well.

Zacharias, AWA as Zac was one of my Greek friends at school. Lovely boy, handsome, polite, was in the rowing team .Every girl in Campus was IN love with him.
Yes, he was a little of Gigolo, but I only know this by some of my contacts.

Regardless, we always had a laught.
Coming with him and his greek friends was always a plus, as we would get seated faster., and get the best food.

  • The food I must say was excellent the few times I ate here. The service is crap however. It's one of this places they think they are making you a favor by letting you be there.
One time I had reservations and they made us wait over 30 min.

I do not know if this has changed in the past year.

This place has been around for a few years, but in a recent visit I experience the same satisfaction as in my first vist.

The restaurant is spacious and the open plan layout allows you to have a look at what is hapening around. The are three main areas: tables, a sushi bar, and a cocktail bar.

The menu is a mixture of japaneese with Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine. You will find the usual rolls, sashimi as well as ceviche, and tiraditos.

The sake list is quite impresive.

The best of all is the they have a DJ playing live chill out music.... that can make you dinner experience just perfect.

    Favorite Dish:
    Rainbow roll
