110 Km away from Caracas and hidden behind the mountains you can find this jewell. There is a vast and large track of mountain wilderness, named the country´s first National Park in 1937. It was later enlarged and renamed after a Swiss naturalist Henri Pittier who worked to preserve from fire and and created a refuge for animals, birds, and flora.

It is a relative short drive away from Caracas, what makes it a popular destination for local beach- goers.
