Pizza and Gelato Lover's Paradise

by surferob - last update: Nov 19, 2004

I just got back from my first visit to Italy. We took a night train from Paris down to Florence and spent two wonderful days there. I was long overdue for an Italian visit, this being my fourth trip to Europe. I liked it instantly but unfortunately didn't have near enough time to get into the Italian state of mind, assuming there is such a thing. At least I got a chance to glimpse a few of its most important cities (Florence, Rome and Siena) and even more importantly sample the cuisine. I couldn't get enough of the pizza, pasta, gelato or Italian coffee. Those things alone made the visit worthwhile.

Florence-although overrun with tourists-is still a charming, medieval town. Your intro. page photo is beautiful.

the Intro view is breathtaking, thousands of Gelato Lovers can die happy (if not crossed by a Dutch bike)
