Getting TO/AROUND: Whatever you do, just plan to do the whole trip by Metro. It is so easy and it gets you exactly where you want to be for cheap. It also lets you get a feel for what it is like to live in Paris, instead of just taking a car or tour bus from tourist site to tourist site. Instead of buying metro tickets one by one, but them 10 at a time for a discount. Just ask the guy for a 'Carnet' and he will give you 10. Get a metro map from the Paris Metro's very extensive and helpful website, figure out how to get to everything, and do it. I would make a copy of the metro map and keep it in your pocket. Go to the metro website at http://www.ratp.fr/index_eng.htm and click on 'Paris Visite' and then click on 'Maps'. In general the Paris Visite section is expremely helpful in helping you to plan your trip and how to get there, so use it! You can tell it where you want to go, and it gives a map of the area showing how to walk to the site from the nearest metro station.
