The taste is completely different from a gummi bear, yet somehow familiar.

Return to Laos

by ellielou - last update: May 8, 2006

my second visit

guarding a national treasure
I was in Laos about 16 months before this current trip. Since it was a return visit, I thought I'd add some new places.

This page will briefly go through my travels, which were:

from Chiang Khong (Thailand) to Huax Xai
Huax Xai to Luang Namtha
Luang Namtha to Muang Sing (where I stayed for like an hour)
Muang Sing back to Luang Namtha
Luang Namtha to Luang Prabang
Luang Prabang to Vietniane
Vientiane to Hanoi
school days

these pages

do NOT include Luang Prabang and Vientiane. They will be built separately.
Bee, camera, and delicous cendol

in appreciation

My dear new friend, Bee, bkoon, helped me immensly in planning this trip. And, as far as I am concerned, she has the best information on the web concerning traveling to that country. Period.

Pros:"lovely people, and scenery, and sort of off the beaten path"
Cons:"developing quickly, prone to motion-sickness locals"
In A Nutshell:"if you're thinking of coming here: the sooner the better!"

Hey, that comment re motion-sickness-prone locals is so true! Happened a few times in our night coach from LP!

I'm glad you enjoyed my familial homeland. Laos is def one of those less-publicized nations I'd like to visit. Thanks for the tips!
