    • Dover AFB is home to the 436th Airlift Wing, known as the "Eagle Wing" and the 512th Airlift Wing, an Air Force Reserve associate referred to as the "Liberty Wing." The Dover Team’s mission is to provide strategic global airlift capability. In order to accomplish our mission, Dover AFB also houses the world’s largest aerial port, which moves more cargo than Federal Express and UPS combined. The port mortuary is the largest in the Department of Defense and plays a vital role as a place of honor where the remains of DOD personnel killed overseas are received.

    • Dover AFB, like most Air Force bases in the U.S., has air shows which are open to the public. They are usually held annually but some years the base does not hold one.

    If your lucky enough to find yourself in the area when there is an air show at the air force base... be sure to check it out.

     Definitely take the (too-low) 25 mph speed limits in Dover & surrounding areas seriously. The cops have nothing better to do than give out tickets. It really is the thing that bugs me the most about living here!
