Gorely-Mudnovsky area, Kamchatka - Kamchatskaya Oblast'

Gorely-Mudnovsky area, Kamchatka

Rain gear, hiking boots, mosquitoe repellent,...

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Rain coat with hood, warm coat, warm sweaters: it rains a lot in Kamchatka in the summer, and temperatures fluctuate widly, rarely reaching 20ºC.
Long-sleeve shirts to protect your arms from mosquitoe bites.
Good hiking boots are a must. Rubber fisher-like boots, knee high, are practical in geothermal fields (I did not have any, but the russians lent me some. They were only one size, large, so I needed about 3 pairs of wool socks to stabilize my feet in them!).
Wool socks.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Mosquitoe repellent
A roll or 2 of toilet paper (not always available in Siberia!)
Flash light (in the huts we stayed at, the toilets were far off the side, and at night you had to find your way in pitch dark on board walks and mud trails, without counting the possibility of meeting a bear!)
A few garbage plastic bags (Always handy to protect stuffs from the rain).
