I can't tell too much about Coronado city since my visit was just limited to a 3 night stay at the Coronado Hotel for a business meeting.
The area looks nice and pleasant with the archifamous Hotel Del as the main highlight for tourists that roam around the lobby and outdoors hearing stories about Marylin Monroe and other famous Hollywood stars that used to come to this exclusive retreat on the Pacific.
The beach is very nice indeed with white fine sand. I visited in February so I didn't see to many people around but it must be a nice place to come with the kids in the summertime.
