Egypt in summer? | View from Sheraton Hotel across the Gulf of Aqaba |
"Must be terribly hot there", friends and colleagues said when hearing about my travel plan to go to the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt in May. Well, hot is the right description, but it is a pleasant heat and I found out that - at least for me - Sharm El Sheik in summer is a nice place to go. But why Sharm? No pyramids, no Nile cruise, not much to see, only good for diving - that's right, but Sharm, as most who know the place say, Sharm is also an ideal place to relax. One cannot do much there except resting, swimming, maybe snorkelling and some smaller trips, but for relaxing, it's perfect. Arab friends recommended Sharm as better than Hurghada on the other side of the Red Sea, more elegant, with better hotels and well organized. |

jje80 Mon Mar 28, 2005 14:42 UTC I disagree. If you decide to go on trips, such as cairo or mt sinai you WILL need warm clothes. it gets cold in the evenings in sharm. | LotusV8 Mon Jul 26, 2004 20:18 UTC Very nice page and accurate info! Wish I was back there again! Per |
