The Detroit

by Russianredstar - last update: Aug 13, 2003

Detroit is making a come back more and more people are coming to the city to work, hang out and live. Yes there is crime but it is at a 35 year low. And after almost 40 years of decay there are a ton of vacant buildings but every year for the last 5 years development has increased by 10% or more and it is more than just Downtown and the Compuware Building all the city is wakeing up. On the Far East side there is a massive 8,000 middle to high income housing development planed and so much more. So give Detroit a chance and look beyond the movie 8 mile and the 40 some years of bad rep and enjoy the city for what it has, not what it doesn’t.

Red Wings victories are fun. But to really see the city go wild, you must witness a World Series Baseball victory- 1968 and 1986 the town fairly exploded in people and confetti!
