It had been a dream of mine to visit Iceland for well over a decade. It not only lived up to my expectations from the countless photos I had seen but well exceeded them. I was stunned by its natural beauty, clean air and heritage.
The trip was arranged to specifically coincide with the summer solstice. We could not have wished for better weather - beautiful, clear, sunny long days. Indeed our guide to Vik informed us that it was the wettest place in Iceland and rained every day, but not on the day we visited! The good weather was made all the more sweet as it was bad weather back home! |
