Amsterdam is the capital of The Netherlands and known for many things.
The Red Light District and the Coffee Shops. The Flowermarket. Shopping at the Kalverstraat. Anne Franks House. And the list goes on.
But for me Amsterdam is very much about art. And especially art from the Golden Age, the 17th century. The most prominent place to witness this is at the Museumplein. This is a square where you will find a couple of museums including the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum.

Foto's 'stiekum' gemaakt? zie "mijn" nachtwacht Page. Groet vanuit -warm DenHaag.
It's been at least 20 years since I was last in Amsterdam but having looked at your tips, the promise of Rembrandt and rhubarb crumble is likely to prove irresistible. Can there be any mix more magnificent than culture AND custard?
Nice page roysie. Cant wait to be there.
Je Artis foto´s zien er goed uit!
En ik moet nog steeds naar de Nachtwacht! PJ
wonderful, no "coffee shop" tips, just what l wanted to see
Nice little page, Roy. I always love to go to Amsterdam, so I did last week. I like to discover new places and revisit the known places.
I was amazed at the size of the painting Nightwatch when I saw it. I also loved the Van Gogh Museum.
