  • The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is perhaps the most renowned museum in The Netherlands. It features hundreds of paintings from the 16th and the 17th century, and also a few of other times. The permanent collection includes a lot of works by famous painters Rembrandt van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer, Frans Hals and Jan Steen. Amond these paintinsg are the famous Nightwatch by Rembrandt and the Milkmaid by Vermeer.

  • As you may know Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. As a city it has a lot to offer. There are several amazing museums, such as the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. There's also a great deal of architecture, like the Beurs van Berlage, Paleis op de Dam and the Westerkerk. But you can also do a fair bit of shopping on the famous Kalverstraat or for instance on the Waterlooplein. And of course Amsterdam is also known for the red Light District and the many Coffe Shops.

  • If you want to see what The Netherlands was like 100 years ago, this is the place to go. You can see everything here from Windmills to wooden shoes and from cheesefarms to Delfts Blue pottery. This small village inside the city of Zaandam is open every day, and is located just north of Amsterdam.

  • Maastricht is one of the oldest cities in The Netherlands, founded by the Romans. It is situated in the very south of The Netherlands, near Belgiun and Germany. In the city you will find a great number of city walls, cathedrals and other buildings from as early as the 9th century AD. Highlights include St Servaaskerk, Onze Lieve Vrouwebasiliek, Onze Lieve Vrouwewal, Vrijthof, Bonnefantenmuseum and St Servaasbrug.

  • The Hague is one of the 4 biggest cities in the Netherlands, and also it's political heart. Therefor the city is dominated by buildings such as the houses of parliament. There are also a lot of great museums to visit such as the Panorama Mesdag. And furthermore it is a great city for shopping and the beach is close by.

  • Middelburg is the capital of the province of Zeeland. It was a very important city in the colonial times. There a couple of nice museums about the history of the Dutch ships and the golden age. The most prominent building in Middelburg is de Lange Jan (Long John) a huge tower of the cathedral. Near Middelburg is the nice small town called Vlissingen with a great beach.

  • Vlissingen is a charming little village at the sea. It's located in the south west of The Netherlands in the province of Zeeland. A lot of people come here to go to the beach, but it has a lot more to offer. There are several museums that are worth a visit, like the muZEEum. Or have a stroll along the beach and discover some of the old forts or city walls.

  • If you're planning to visit the south of The Netherlands, this is a good place to go to. Valkenburg is only a couple of mimutes away from Maastricht. It's an interesting town. You can visit quite a few different caves, like the municipal caves, the Roman catacombes or the aquarium cave. Furthermore you can see parts of the old city walls with a highlight at the old castle ruins.

  • Gouda is a marvelous little town between Rotterdam and Utrecht. The city is world famous for it's cheese. The Gouda cheese is the number one cheese in Europe. But there's so much more. In the small area of the city center you will find many beautiful buildings, mostly gothic. The City Hall and hns Church are particularly nice.

  • Delft is a magnificent and historic city between Rotterdam and The Hague. It's world famous for it's Delfts Blue Pottery, which you can find everywhere. But it's also an important city, because William the Silent was shot here. There are a lot of historic buildings, that date back to the 15th and 16th century. The Prinsenhof and the New & Old Church are particularly nice.
