Small Country, Big Variety

Cultural Country
Seafaring Country
Living in The Netherlands, I have seen many big cities and small towns. And I can honestly say that it is a very diverse country. There's modern architecture (i.e. Rotterdam), historical cities (i.e. Maastricht), cultural melting pods (i.e. Amsterdam), great beaches (i.e. Vlissingen), nature reserves (i.e. De veluwe) and much much more.
Bicycle Country
In January and February of 2004 I decided it was about time to get to know my country a little bit better. Therefore I went on several daytrips to various cities and places in The Netherlands.

The places I visited were:

Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Delft, Utrecht, Apeldoorn, Maastricht, Gouda, Den Bosch, Groningen, Texel, Edam, Zaanse Schans, Zevenaar, Zaltbommel, Middelburg, Vlissingen, Leiden, Scheveningen, Schiphol, Tilburg and Arnhem.

In those cities I of course saw a lot of the buildings and city center. But I also visited several museums, like the Rijksmusem and Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. I also went to the Burgers Zoo and Royal Palace 't Loo in Apeldoorn.

During the summer I want to explore more. In June, July and August I will once again make many daytrips. Some of the days I am planning are:

Amsterdam, Haarlem, Groningen, Leeuwarden, Amersfoort, Sneek, Neeltje Jans, Appingedam, Volendam, Delfzijl, Marken, Haarlem, Alkmaar, Kinderdijk, Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Keukenhof, Safaripark Beekse Bergen, De Efteling, De Biesbosch, De Veluwe, Muiderslot, Fort Pampus, Zutphen, Dolfinarium Harderwijk, Dordrecht, Oudenbosch.

If you wanna join me on one of those days, feel free to let me know !!!
