Bright Angel Trail

Take a hike or a mule ride down the bright Angel Trail but only if you're brave enough.

If you enlarge the main photo you can make out the trail in the centre and it should give you an idea of what you can expect. The trail leads all the way down to the base of the canyon but should not be attempted unless you are fit enough and fully prepared. Remember you have to come back up the same way.

The Watchtower

On the eastern approach to the canyon at Desert View, the Watchtower was specially designed and built to fit with it's surroundings. We climbed 4 floors (I think it was 4) to the top stopping to view the canyon from each level. Inside you will find various exhibits and information about its history.

Worth getting out of bed for! You may need to allow for the shuttle bus being late due to frozen windscreen washers so be early enough to catch the first one that comes and have your camera at the ready as soon as you get off.
