  • ♫♫ Doesn't matter if you're not a drinker but the Hard Rock Cafe in Kuala Lumpur is one place you should drop by if you're a massive fan of good old HRC food.

From what I've heard and experienced, it's a HRC unique from it's other chain outlets. Place opens at 10am right till 3am. And be prepared for a queue on weekend nights.

Best time to visit would be Friday & Saturday after dinner. Drinks are priced from US$3 onwards. Occasionally there will be live music performances there as well. Bikers and wanna-be bikers hang out here as well displaying thier mean machines just outside at the allocated bike park.

    National Mosque: Giant Umbrella

  • Ok, it's like this: If you're into Mosques, then you would want to go see our former national mosque in the city. But this time it's all renovated and lighted up. So a night visit would be lovely just like it is in the picture.

If I were to discribe the history on it, It'll be at least 3478 words. I'm pretty sure most of you know what a mosque is used for but if you so desire for more info on this one here, please drop me an email and I'll send you the info.

Located next to the old Railway Station and Railway Administration building, this is a short walk from the Chinatown area.

Things To Do: Theme Park in the city
  • Tip Rating:
  • Kuala Lumpur - Times Square roller coaster
  • Times Square roller coaster
  • by city_guy

  • When visiting the all new Berjaya TIMES SQUARE shopping mall, do not forget, I repeat...Do not forget to visit the theme park. It has the biggest roller coaster in Malaysia right in the theme park. Eats the Genting and Sunway for breakfast.

The park is super~massive and adults pay RM20.00/ Kids RM10.00 for the park entrance.

The roller coaster looks pretty frightening if you have not sat in one before, and it loops and twirls for 800meters long. Which is also the 'Longest Indoor Roller Coaster in the World'. They have some other 'Thrill Rides' in there as well.

Bring a doggy bag if unsure...

  • This is the other section of the theme park, called Kids World, any toddler would just go nuts there.

Can you notice the roller coaster also making it's way through this section. There's a ton of kiddy rides and stuff to do in the Kids World, Entrance fees is as above. Kids pay RM18.00 but don't forget if you want to accompany your kid in, you'll have to pay as well.

Currently there is a promotion till end 2003 where it cost only RM10.00 for kids and RM20.00 for adults.

    Chinatown: Chinatown
  • Tip Rating:
  • Well, this is what it looks like, the NEW Chinatown in KL. They've stopped the traffic from going through, paved up the street, gave it a erm. nice long modern canopy and more stalls there.

    A must for every traveller.

Menara Telecommunications Tower: The Tower in my eyes
  • Tip Rating:
  • Kuala Lumpur Menara Telecommunications Tower
  • KL Tower from afar
  • by city_guy
  • Send Photo to a Friend

  • The Menara Kuala Lumpur or KL Tower as it's commonly known stands at a towering 421meters and is currently the 4th tallest towers in the world.

Situated atop the Bukit Nanas Hill in the city, it was completed in May 1996 and was officially launched by our former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahatir.

This tower is divided into 5 basic sections:

    1. Foundation Base
    2. Touristic Base
    3. Tower Shaft
    4. Tower Head
    5. Antenna Mast

The architectural design of this tower was intricately produced based on the Islam tradition called 'Muqarnas' from Iran. Muqarnas was constructed in the arrangement of glasses on the domes of the lobby entrance to illustrate the 7 layers of the sky with sun rays shining from the middle. The design also represents the human journey for perfection in life.

For a picturesque sight of the Kuala Lumpur city, head up this tower with no regrets. Also you will find a revolving restaurant, an observation deck, souvinier shops and an infomation booth to serve you.

Price applies to get up to the tower.

Hi David, my bf was a victim of a very similar incident just last week of September 2006! He was approached in Little India by a man who posed himself as Jun or John. I emailed you during that time. Hope to hear from you. Regards.
