I had the privilege of travelling to Antarctica last winter on board the expedition ship Explorer. The trip was organized by GAP Adventures (www.gapadventures.com).
Antarctica is a really special place. Not only does it have amazing natural beauty and wildlife, but because it doesn't belong to any country, it has (so far) escaped the nasty violence that's always plagued the rest of the world.
It is a peaceful, quiet, frozen continent, where penguins, seals, whales and birds live undisturbed (well, almost). ;-)

How many people actually dare to visit Antartica ? Wonderful page and pictures.I love the penguins.Thanks for this refreshingly different travel page here on VT. |
