Zagreb Travel Guide: 1,850 reviews and 4,564 photos
I started and ended my Croatian journey in Zagreb, the capital. Unlike the coastal towns I visited, Zagreb isn't inundated with tourists, so in a way it feels more like a "real" city, you know, the kind of place you can imagine living in. Its small size, network of trams, and well-behaved traffic makes it easy to visit. And although it doesn't display the grandeur and excess of Paris or Rome, it has its share of beautiful buildings and green parks.
As a bonus, I got to meet several VT members while there (see travelogue). Zagreb has a closely knit community of VT members who like to welcome visitors to their city.

- Pros:Small, easy to manage, interesting architecture, coffee culture!
- Cons:Lack of decent non-smoking sections in restaurants
- In a nutshell:Spend a few days if you have the chance
