Kolomna Travel Guide: 53 reviews and 71 photos
"Kolomna" in old languages means "Column" (in modern Russian - Kolonna). It is an old town (first mentioned in 1177), that was a fortress on the south border of Moscow Principality.
It is very interesting place to visit. Kolomna is situated just 110 km from Moscow by the M5 road (towards Ryazan').

The pictures you took are very good and I especially like the one looking down from the wall.
Pavel, lovely little page about Kolomna here. I think that Moscow has changed in the last 5 years to a bit more western style; nevertheless I loved it. I even went on a daytrip to Sergiyev Posad.
That looks like a great daytrip from Moscow ! Great churches and that lovely steam-train & of course the Club of Historic Fencing :-)
I liked Kolomna very much when I visited. You remind me that one day I have to finish my page ;)
You and your family looks grat in armours. Interesting, Japanese dolls are still there?
