Ancient fortress on south border of Moskovia

by Pablos_new - last update: May 28, 2003

"Kolomna" in old languages means "Column" (in modern Russian - Kolonna). It is an old town (first mentioned in 1177), that was a fortress on the south border of Moscow Principality.

It is very interesting place to visit. Kolomna is situated just 110 km from Moscow by the M5 road (towards Ryazan').
