Two Honeymoons in One

My wife,Betty, and I traveled from Miami,FL to Fontana Lake,NC on our honeymoon. Betty had never experienced the Smoky Mountains before. But after only one day of exploring the back roads and visiting Bryson City, she promptly exclaimed "this is where I want to retire and live". Soon thereafter, we purchased 5 acres of unimproved land with a stream running thru it on top of Brush Creek mountain. When we build our log cabin there, we will be less than 30 minutes from Bryson City. It is without a doubt, the friendliest and most charming town in western N.C.!

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:An abundance of quaint shops, friendly store employees and residents, and a hub with roads leading to any necessity.
  • Cons:hmmm...honestly, I'm trying to think of one.
  • In a nutshell:A town where time has no place.
