"Tokmak and Burana" a Tokmak Travel Page by Eish

Tokmak, and the Burana Tower nearby, are about 60km east of Bishkek. This was our first destination out of the capital city.

Our journey to Burana took us past sunflower fields with enormous mountains in the distance. The scenery that was so new then, was to become so normal in time, but not less beautiful.

Our first stop at Burana was the squat toilet: smelly, full of flies, no toilet paper, but free!

The next experience was definitely more pleasant: the children picking dandelions in the field around the tower. I could hear my little girl softly wishing for her own fairy as she blew her flowers away.
