"Lake Frome" Lake Frome by 1+1
Lake Frome Travel Guide: 6 reviews and 9 photos
Lake Frome is a mostly dry salt pan with islands of salt tolerant vegetation. It's situated in the north-east of South Australia, east of the North Flinders Ranges.
Not usually associated with deserts, there are many varieties of hibiscus throughout Australia's arid regions, as well as many others in the wetter and tropical regions.
Lake Frome being a mostly dry salt pan in the arid north of South Australia doesn't mean it's devoid of life. This Lake Eyre Dragon finds plenty to fill its belly amongst the vegetation and debris.

Thanks for this interesting tour of part of Australia's vast Outback! I just wish I had been able to sample it for myself when I worked those 3-years in Papua New Guinea a couple of decades ago.
Lovely pictures and your tips are well written. Enjoyed my morning tour! Hoping to make it to the meeting next year...see you then...cheers
