Well I have been to Puerto Vallarta a number of times and didn't want to spend what little time we had in PV on a tour, so we decided to head straight to the tequila factory. I had called ahead of time to get information on the location and how to quickly get from the pier to the factory.

So we got off the tender and headed straight to the taxi stand. 5 minutes (and $5 USD) later, we arrived at Aquí Jalisco. And wouldn't you know it, a tour was going on at the same time...so we tagged along.

Received information on the history ot tequila, how it's grown and the different versions made from the agave plant. After that, we went into the tasting room to sample different tequilas. 10 - 12 shots later, we staggered to the counter to purchase some for taking home.

We had heard from a fellow passenger on the ship that PV has some asweome places which provide massages...and relatively inexpensive. He mentioned that there were a number of places near the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe church. So after the tequila pit stop, we headed off in search of a massage.

After doing some shopping at the Río Cuale Flea Market, we started walking along the street and found a place called Yin-Yang Professional Massage. Didn't seem like much outside, but once inside, you could feel calmness take over. I didn't need a massage, but LJ did, so I went across the street to the internet cafe.

1 1/2 hours later, LJ said that she had the best massage ever, and it only cost $30 (USD)...where else are you going to get an awesome massage for that price (certainly not on the cruise ship). They specialize in aromatherapy, shiatsu, reflexology, facials, sea salt body scrubs, mud treatments, manicures & pedicures.

This church (more than any other symbol) represents Puerto Vallarta and is topped by an ornate crown that replicates the one worn by Carlota (the empress of Mexico) in the late 1860s.
