America's finest city

Sunset off Point Loma

Many wonderful memories
If you are looking for a place to vacation (or even live), you can't go wrong is San Diego is your destination (don't you just love this sunset). So many things to do...from swimming at it's beautiful beaches, to fine dining, to the world famous Zoo, to taking a trip to Mexico, to hiking in the mountains and so much more...San Diego is a very happening place.
The Little Italy area

A well kept secret of San Diego

San Diego can be described as a "melting-pot" of America as so many nations are represented in the people which make up the city. With that as a background, you have so many different areas of San Diego to visit...the quaint neighborhoods like Little Italy, Hillcrest, North Park and so on. So get off the tourist track and head to these little known gems.

View of downtown San Diego

With so many vantage points of downtown San Diego, you really can't take a bad picture. I took this one from the deck of the ms Oosterdam as it headed out of San Diego Bay into the Pacific Ocean on our way to the Mexican Riviera.

Pros:"So many things to see and do and so laid-back"
Cons:"Traffic can be a royal pain in the butt and it's a very expensive place"
In A Nutshell:"No longer a military town"

Looks like some fun times. Sorry we couldn't have a big VT meeting when we visited. I'll try to do better next time.

Thanks again for putting together a great evening. I didn't realize you had that much of a drive, either! Although I hit the wall at the end (I hope it wasn't obvious) it is hard to imagine a better experience for my first VT meet!
