"The Prosecco Wineries" Valdobbiadene by BLewJay

While staying with our friends Phil and Kim, we decided to explore other areas of the Veneto Province. This region of Italy is known for wine making and specifically Prosecco (a bubbly champagne), so we headed off to one of the small, quaint and charming towns...Valdobbiadene...where the Casa Mionetto and Ca'Salina wineries are located. The Napa region of California has nothing on this area, so off on our wine/champagne tasting we went.

The Prosesso region of Italy is not as well known as say the Champagne region of France or Napa Valley in California. That's a shame because the product made here is absolutely top shelf and delicious and favorably compares with both of those other areas.

Equipment used in the early days

In the winery, not only did we have the opportunity to talk with the owner, but we sampled many varieties and also took a look at the history of Casa Mionetto.
