The end of the Sacred Valley

by bicycle_girl - last update: Oct 31, 2006

I had good vibes about Ollantaitambo. It's a bit touristy, but it's also friendly, it's where people take the train to Aguas Caliente and it's also where you can visit the Inca site and take on the views. I came back twice after the first visit (to and from Machu Picchu) and felt comfortable there.

I think the next time we visit Peru we'll also spend more time here. It seems much more relaxed and laid back than Cuzco.

Thanks for this insight into Ollantaitambo! The setting is amazing and it must have been great to actually climb to see those Inca structures up-close. Beautiful photos of your time there!
